Immediate Assessment:

Trevor gifted in the classroom and as an athlete with a 4.0 GPA and it translates onto the field. When I first met and starting to work with Trevor the one thing I felt and noticed was the leadership aura about him. Strong desire to get better and you can see the adamant ability to command the huddle and gain respect. A gamer on the field. High level ability to stretch the play. Relentless to make a play, not easy to go down. Above average grasp of the position. Excellent lower body/leg strength.

Target: Improve hip flexibility and become a more fluid player with our feet. Cut release time to increase velocity to accuracy. Decrease release time, create compact fit through rotation and release. Very good feet but need light and more fluid movement to increase fluid pocket movement. 

 

Futures: Defensive identification, coverage recognition, accuracy, throwing strength and fluid in the feet.

Wednesday was a great day for our 5-step delivery. Watch our clear step which is the first step from the snap.  It is going to be better and quicker. Depth, control and quickness.  Arm strength is showing in our stationary throwing drills.

WEEK 1 WALK-THRU ASSESSMENT

Great first week of identifying first what we need to work on to progress at an efficient timeframe. Assessing how we are going to tighten up and quicken our release speed. Eventually increase our throwing velocity.  Become more fluid with our footwork and lighter.

WEEK 2  DRILL IMPLEMENTATION

Implemented footwork drills for fluidity.  Great job of identifying choppiness in our footwork. Work to continue fluidity.  Increase arm strength with resistance drills, with an added focus on hip explosion.  Daily focus on increased hip explosion. 

WEEK 3  HIPS & GATHER

In this cut-up, you will notice our hips from last week.  I think your back being a bother limited your flexibility. But watch the transition from medicine ball to the 3 step gather drill.  Things are slowly transitioning which is showing a little more zip.

WEEK 3  HIPS & GATHER

New drill to help with throwing strength and working the hips to build that velocity. Inclusion of weighted vest to work on the arm strength on the run and well as feet.
